In other words, branch banking will remain a priority for Indian lenders, which will co-exist with alternative channels like Internet and mobile banking. The difference in banking requirements can’t be more conspicuous. While corporate customers and high net worth individuals need all premium banking facilities, rural branches have to be no-frills and low cost. Citibank recently opened a bank branch in an affluent part of Mumbai specifically aimed at high-end customers. The branch boasts of interactive televisions, iPads and swanky interiors.......
