MUMBAI: The MRA Marg police on Friday arrested the Bharatiya Kamgar Sena (BKS) chief Suryakant Mahadik and 25 members, allegedly for staging a protest at the Reserve Bank of India headquarters 's main premises on Mint Road on Friday. They were arrested and later released on bail surety and personal bond. There is nothing unusual in union leaders getting arrested while staging dharna/protests. In RBI it had rarely happened as both the unions and management being alive to their respective roles, behave with utmost patience, restrain and responsibility. This one-off event is unfortunate given the best of the industrial relation climate presently prevailing in the Central Bank.
